Imagine being a young girl with a passion for football. What if you not only got to play the game you love but also learn crucial leadership skills through a special program? And what if this program opened doors for you to train with the coaches of your city’s official football club?
In a fantastic opportunity, 20 girls from Enabling Leadership’s Play program, where they learn essential leadership skills through football, recently had the honor of participating in an exclusive training session by the renowned Hyderabad FC (a professional football club that competes in the Indian Super League, the top flight of Indian football). This unique experience not only allowed them to improve their football abilities but also gave them a valuable platform to apply the leadership skills they have been developing through the Play program.
Interacting with coaches and players from such a well-known football club was an extraordinary chance for these girls, one that went beyond refining their football skills. It acted as a catalyst for their leadership development too. By being exposed to new techniques and skills, they deepened their understanding of the game while also honing the leadership qualities instilled in them through the Play program.
Through the Play program’s indirect influence, these underprivileged girls from various corners of the country are being empowered with such transformative experiences, helping them grow as both skilled footballers and future leaders.
Varshini, one of the enthusiastic participants, expressed her sheer delight and shared her amazing experience during the Hyderabad Football Club workshop. She joyfully exclaimed, “My experience with the HFC workshop was absolutely incredible! Every activity was enjoyable and filled with excitement.”
It is through such exposure and the cultivation of leadership skills that these young individuals can chart a path to success and create a positive impact in their lives and communities. In fact, this wasn’t the first time our kids had the opportunity to be part of Hyderabad FC’s endeavors. Last year, they also offered some of our children the chance to be mascots for their India Super League (ISL) games held in Hyderabad – G. M. C. Balayogi Athletic Stadium.
These exciting experiences showcase the indirect exposure our Play program provides to our children. As we continue to nurture their development, we envision building long-term partnerships with institutions that offer our children, whom we proudly call Leaders, more opportunities and moments that enable them to flourish and grow into responsible and influential individuals.
