Stories from ‘Resound’

In 2013, Music Basti restructured its initiatives to launch the ReSound program. Over a period of 30 weeks, ReSound works through trained musicians with students in classrooms and communities. Since 2013, ReSound has trained over 100 teachers, and worked with over 850 students. .

Music Basti enables music learning for children to develop skills and confidence to achieve their best.

Concerts

Each year, Music Basti’s ReSound program hosts an annual public concert in Delhi that features the original song performances by all the program’s students.

Classrooms

Jaya and Ankit, our students, share their stories about learning in the ReSound program. They work with Music Basti’s teaching artists Krish Jaiman, Pronay Roy and Subhadra Kamath every week at an MCD school in New Delhi in partnership with Teach for India.

Music Albums by Children

Ship of Dreams / सपनो का जहाज़ is the live recording of Music Basti’s third annual children’s concert, featuring 300 at-risk children performing 13 original songs they have written and composed about their dreams! The public concert was hosted with a live band in Delhi on 17th April 2016 at The Garden of Five Senses. More albums here.

Prakriti / प्रकृति’ (2016) was composed by students from “Kilkari” Rainbow Home with Dil Se Campaign and Centre for Equity Studies, in Kashmere Gate, Delhi. Sonia, Suman and Chanda share their journey learning with us. More videos here.
