It’s not every day that you wake up to misty skies, excited footsteps, and dreams taking shape right before your eyes. But that’s exactly what this June has been for the Enabling Leadership family — a symphony of fresh beginnings, full hearts, and a powerful recommitment to the mission we’ve been chasing for a decade.
Across India — from the hills of Dharwad to the coastal charm of Chennai, the bustling cities of Mumbai and Pune, the quiet resolve of Pollachi and Satana, the cultural rhythms of Hyderabad, and the tech corridors of Bangalore — the first sessions of EL PLAY, EL CREATE, and EL BUILD have kicked off. And with them, the spirit of a new year filled with growth, transformation, and leadership — from the most unexpected leaders.
The Soul of What We Do
At Enabling Leadership, we don’t just run leadership & life skills development programs.
We build futures, ignite voices, and empower young people to believe — truly believe — that they can defy the impossible.
We use football, music, and Lego-based design not just as tools, but as mediums of liberation. Because when children play, create, and build — they also lead, express, and transform.
This year, we’re not just restarting sessions.
We are rekindling hope, courage, and purpose in thousands of classrooms. We’re telling every child: You matter. You belong. You can lead.
EL PLAY: Rain-Soaked Shoes, Unshakable Spirit
In Chennai, our coaches Shyam and Nanda stood on the field at SM Nagar School as the first EL PLAY session unfolded. Parents lined the boundaries, watching with joy, curiosity, and pride as their children played — not just a sport, but a game that teaches resilience, teamwork, and self-worth.
And in Dharwad, where the skies opened up, children arrived — soaked but smiling, because 95% of them showed up. The rain didn’t dampen spirits — it amplified them. The joy in their laughter, the confidence in their game, and the camaraderie they shared reminded us why we do this. These weren’t just football drills. These were moments of becoming.
EL BUILD: Rules Made by Kids, Not for Them
In Bangalore, the first EL BUILD session began with students drafting their own classroom rules — with words like focus, respect, and helping others echoing from little voices with big intentions. They weren’t following a rulebook. They were writing one — together.
This is the essence of EL BUILD — creating ownership, responsibility, and leadership, brick by brick, lesson by lesson.
And in Dharwad, EL BUILD sessions started too — filled with the kind of creative chaos that only young minds can spark. Smiles, questions, mistakes, laughter — all building blocks of confident, capable leaders.
EL CREATE: Music, Memories & Meaning
In Dharwad, the air was filled not just with the monsoon breeze, but with the first notes of a melody waiting to be born. Our EL CREATE sessions began with soft tunes, shared stories, and the discovery of rhythm.
These sessions are where children find their voice — sometimes literally, often metaphorically. Through songwriting and music, they’re learning to express themselves, to collaborate, and to dream aloud.
In a world that often silences young voices, EL CREATE is a microphone — and the stage is theirs.
Connecting With Purpose: Parents, Schools & Systems
This year’s beginning is about more than programs. It’s about building trust, listening deeply, and co-creating impact.
Across cities, we conducted Parent Orientations — opening doors of communication, creating shared visions, and hearing from 6th graders about how EL has not just changed their performance, but transformed their confidence.
In Dharwad, our team met with the Block Education Officer — seeking pathways to strengthen our government partnerships and scale our mission. Because leadership doesn’t stop in the classroom — it reaches into systems, policies, and futures.
Celebrating the Heartbeat — Our Teams
This journey wouldn’t be possible without our incredible Program Apprentices (PAs) and Program Managers (PMs) — the true catalysts of transformation.
Your tireless commitment, early mornings, rainy day rides, last-minute prep, and unwavering belief in children are the heartbeat of this movement. You aren’t just facilitators. You are mentors, torchbearers, and changemakers.
To each one of you: thank you for showing up. For listening. For leading. This year, and every year, belongs to you.
The Road Ahead: From Possibility to Power
This isn’t just the start of another academic calendar. It’s the beginning of thousands of new stories:
- A child who learns to lead her team.
- A student who writes his first song about his dreams.
- A classroom that designs a better world, one Lego brick at a time.
This is what defying the impossible looks like.
So as we step into this year — soaked shoes, open hearts, full schedules — let’s remember what we’re here to do.
To build a world where every child, no matter where they’re born, knows how to lead.
Not someday. Today.
Here’s to EL PLAY. Here’s to EL CREATE. Here’s to EL BUILD.
Here’s to you. Here’s to us.
Here’s to the impossible — made possible.
