Ravi Sonnad, Founding Chairman
Ravi has worked in the manufacturing industry for over 25 years, living and working in India, the United States, The Netherlands and China. While pursuing an active corporate career as a senior executive, he has always been intensely passionate about education, steadfast in the belief that education alone can solve the world’s problems.
Ravi has a Bachelor of technology from the Indian Institute of Technology and an MBA from Tulane University.
Addy Stoel, Treasurer
Addy has a background in the languages and a long history in social work, particularly in the field of education. She has served in the Netherlands UNESCO Centre. Her deep interest in social issues has inspired her to write several books and organize numerous conferences and symposia. Addy has held various Board positions at social institutions and was President of the Open School Amsterdam Foundation.
Addy studied General Linguistics at the Vrije Universitiet, Amsterdam.
Priya Machado, Secretary
Priya has a long and varied background in the non-profit world and has worked with Action Aid UK, Christian Aid and the Royal National Institute for the Blind, London and Antares, Amsterdam. She currently works with the Anne Frank House in an educational project on tolerance and human rights for secondary schools.
Priya is trained as a specialized teacher-trainer for rural schools in a program in South India.
Aparna Nayampalli, Program Manager
Aparna manages Enabling Leadership’s strategic grantmaking, partnership development and operations. Prior to joining Enabling Leadership, she worked for Mama Cash, the First International Women’s Fund, managing their Asia-Pacific portfolio. She has lived and worked in India, The Netherlands and China and brings to Enabling Leadership her experience in Project Management, Grantmaking and Monitoring and Evaluation.
Aparna has a Postgraduate Diploma in Rural Management from the Institute of Rural Management, Anand and a Masters in Development Studies from the Institute of Social Studies, The Hague.
Divya Khanna, Marketing and Communications
Divya is a communications expert with over 12 years of experience in strategic communications and marketing, journalism, and public relations. She is heading Enabling Leadership’s marketing and communications function and is responsible for shaping its communications strategy to promote awareness and understanding of the organisation’s mission and programs and increase visibility among key stakeholders.
Before joining Enabling Leadership, Divya worked in key communication roles in organisations in the UK, Malta, and India, in both the corporate and NGO sectors.
Divya has a Masters Degree in International Development from the University of Manchester, a Postgraduate Diploma in Mass Communication from Xavier Institute of Communications, Mumbai, and a Bachelors degree in Economics from Hansraj College, Delhi University.
Reha Bublani, Head of Curriculum
Reha is a whole-brain practitioner who has been working in the development sector for over a decade with educators and students across the world. She is responsible for developing Enabling Leadership’s life-skills and value-based curriculum for children.
Before joining Enabling Leadership, Reha worked with organisations like the Aangan Trust and the Global Education and Leadership Foundation (tGELF), where she led their international operations for leadership curriculum and training.
Reha has trained teachers and students in the UAE, Bangladesh, and Bhutan in leadership and global citizenship, and represented her organisations internationally at various forums and conferences including the Harvard Graduate School’s Project Zero, the International Leadership Association and the Whole Brain Creativity Conference.
Reha has a Masters degree in International Employment Relations & HR Management from the London School of Economics, and a Bachelors degree in Economics from Delhi University.
Banderao Patwari, Program Manager Dharwad
Banderao Patwari manages Enabling Leadership’s flagship music and football programs in Dharwad, Karnataka. He has worked for over 27 years of in the development sector in the fields of education, natural resource management, youth empowerment, and grants making. He has successfully built strategic partnerships with government and non-government organisations.
Before joining Enabling Leadership, Patwari worked with organisations like Myrada, Prerana, Vidya Poshak, Akshara Foundation, Naandi Foundation, and Vrutti Livelihood Resource Centre. He has founded five non-governmental organisations and a private limited company.
Patwari has a Post Graduate Diploma in Development Planning from the School of Development Planning (Pune) and a Bachelors degree in Agricultural Engineering from the University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad.
After graduating from IIT (Madras) and IIM (Lucknow), Elizabeth spent 10 years in the software industry and then shifted focus on the use of technology to improve services to the under-served. She managed a project for Philips to deploy health services in rural areas and has worked with start-ups in internet access, mobile finance, and after-school learning programs.
Elizabeth’s passion continues to be in social entrepreneurship. She lives in Bangalore, India.
A founding partner of Blackpeak, Nick is a former investment banker, investor and lawyer with more than 25 years’ finance experience, much of it in Asia. He is a former co-head of Investment Banking for the Asia Pacific region for HSBC. Nick has extensive experience in advising companies on regulatory and compliance matters as well as M&A, restructuring and capital raising. He graduated in law from London University and then attended the Inns of Court School of Law. Nick is currently based in Singapore.
Corina has lived and worked in 41 countries over the past two decades. Her work spans stints in Europe and the Middle East at companies like P&G and Emirates Group in the areas of governance, strategy, process management, and audit. With a JD in Law from Georgetown University and an MBA from Tulane University, she is an experienced attorney, auditor and change manager. Corina currently lives in Bali, Indonesia, where she runs Audit Moose, a start-up focused on audit.
Chandan Deep currently leads Twitter’s Sales and Marketing Strategy and Operations for India, SEA, and Middle East. Prior to joining Twitter, she spent several years in consulting with BCG and Accenture, working closely with senior leadership to drive growth and business transformation.
She has been named on the Top 10 LinkedIn Power Profiles list in Singapore. Chandan is a keen champion of women’s initiatives in technology and is the Executive Chair of Connected Women, a group that focuses on networking and professional development.
Peter Magnus Cariaga
Magnus has been working on the commercial side of Nestle for over 13 years. He has lived and worked across the Philippines, Switzerland and China. He has extensive experience in business and strategy development, brand management, digital marketing and e-commerce.
Magnus graduated with a degree in Management Engineering at the Ateneo de Manila University, Philippines. He currently resides in Beijing, China.
